In 2024 Maketank was delighted to receive a Challenge America grant from the National Endowment for the Arts that allowed us to put together a traveling exhibition of original artwork from the Illustrated Memoir Project. We were able to frame 30 pieces of work and publish an anthology of 16 exemplar memoirs from the formative first five years of the project. In the past year the exhibition was featured at WavePool’s Welcome Project, Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center, and at Berea College’s Doris Ulmann Gallery.
