Documentary Projects
In May 2026 we worked with filmmaker Esther Kavu Sammy to shoot a documentary short about the Illustrated Memoir Project in Nakivale Refugee Settlement. The film explores the project through the daily lives and stories of participants David, Abigail, Mokisa Esther, and Luckson. It also follows project intern and board member, Enock, as he returns to the settlement where he was born to help run the project and reconnect with family and friends from his childhood.

In the fall of 2025 we ran a project at Aiken High School in Cincinnati in an Agriculture class. Filmmaker Camilo Idrobo documented the project, sharing a behind the scenes look at how the program takes shape in a school setting, and capturing the unique stories shared by participants with diverse cultural backgrounds.
